What import and export do
Section titled “What import and export do”Export saves your entire library — snippets, steps, and categories — to a file you can keep as a backup or move to another Mac.
Import restores from an export file, or lets you bring your library to a new machine.
When to use them
Section titled “When to use them”| Situation | Action |
|---|---|
| Getting a new Mac | Export on old Mac, import on new |
| Creating a regular backup | Export to a date-stamped file |
| Restoring after a mistake | Import from your latest export |
Accessing import/export
Section titled “Accessing import/export”Go to File → Import or File → Export in the menu bar.
If you’re on the free tier, CodeShelf will prompt you to upgrade when you try to access these options.
Export before making big changes to your library — snippets deleted inside the app can’t be recovered without a backup.
