IP Pools
IP Pools
Section titled “IP Pools”A pool is a named sub-range of IP addresses within a network. Pools let you carve up a network block into logical segments — one for servers, one for wireless devices, one for IoT — and track allocations separately.
Adding a pool
Section titled “Adding a pool”From the location detail page, tap Add Pool in the Pools section. Fill in:
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | E.g. “Servers”, “IoT”, “Guest Wi-Fi” |
| Icon | No | Picked from a built-in icon set |
| Start IP | Yes | First IP in this pool’s range |
| End IP | Yes | Last IP in this pool’s range |
The range must fall within the location’s network CIDR. Netory validates that pools don’t overlap — if the range conflicts with an existing pool, you’ll see an error.
Pool icons
Section titled “Pool icons”Each pool can have a custom icon to make it visually distinct at a glance. Icons are picked from Netory’s built-in catalog during setup.
Viewing a pool
Section titled “Viewing a pool”Tap a pool card to open the pool detail view. This shows:
- Every IP address in the pool’s range
- Allocation status for each IP (allocated vs unallocated)
- Device name, icon, room, MAC, and notes for allocated IPs
- Filters to show allocated-only or unallocated-only
- A search bar to find IPs or device names
Allocating an IP
Section titled “Allocating an IP”Within a pool, tap an unallocated IP to assign it to a device. You can set:
- Device name
- Device icon
- Room
- MAC address
- Notes
Once allocated, the IP shows the device name and status in the pool view.
Room filter
Section titled “Room filter”Use the room filter inside a pool view to show only IPs assigned to a specific room. This is useful for finding all devices in a particular physical space.
Deleting a pool
Section titled “Deleting a pool”Deleting a pool removes all IP allocations within it. Devices assigned to those IPs will lose their records.
