Events
Events
Section titled “Events”The Events module counts down to a specific date. Add a trip, a birthday, a product launch, a deadline — anything with a fixed target date. TAP shows how many days remain and visualises progress from when you added the event to the target date.
Creating an event
Section titled “Creating an event”Tap + on the Events screen and fill in:
- Name — what you’re counting down to
- Emoji — choose from 28 presets (✈️, 🎂, 🏆, 💼, 🎓, and more)
- Target date — the date the event occurs (must be tomorrow or later)
- Description — optional notes about the event
- Accent colour — used for the progress display and dot grid
The start date is set automatically to today when the event is created.
What the countdown shows
Section titled “What the countdown shows”Each event displays:
- Days remaining — updates daily at midnight
- Days elapsed — how many days have passed since you added the event
- Progress bar — fills from left to right as the event approaches. Full when the date arrives.
- Dot grid — one dot per day of the event span. Filled dots (in your accent colour) represent days that have passed; empty dots represent remaining days. Today’s dot pulses.
After the event date
Section titled “After the event date”Once the target date passes, the event shows “Event complete” and the countdown reaches zero. The event stays in your list — it isn’t deleted automatically.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”TAP sends reminders in the lead-up to each event at standard intervals (21, 14, 7, 3, and 1 day before). Notifications are removed if you delete the event.
Use Events for distant things, Tasks for recurring things. If you’re going to the gym three times a week, that’s a Task. If you’re counting down to a holiday in 60 days, that’s an Event.
Add events as soon as you know about them. The dot grid and progress bar are most satisfying when they have the full span to work with.
