CodeShelf Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the CodeShelf macOS application and supplements the main Privacy Policy. They should be read together.

CodeShelf is designed to minimise data collection and operate primarily offline.

CodeShelf stores the content you create within the app, including:

  • Code snippets
  • Snippet titles and descriptions
  • Tags, folders, and organisational metadata
  • Programming language selections

All of this data is created by you and stored locally on your device.

CodeShelf may collect limited, anonymous technical data to improve app stability, such as:

  • Crash reports (if enabled by the user)
  • Basic performance diagnostics
  • App version and macOS version

This data does not personally identify you.

CodeShelf does not collect:

  • Personal identity information
  • Location data
  • Contacts
  • Photos, media, or files outside the app
  • Tracking or advertising identifiers
  • Usage analytics tied to an individual user
  • Data shared across other apps or websites
  • All CodeShelf data is stored locally on your Mac
  • CodeShelf does not require an account or sign-in
  • CodeShelf does not upload your snippets to external servers

If optional system-level services (such as crash reporting) are enabled, data is handled according to Apple’s platform policies.

  • Data is not sold or shared with advertisers
  • Data is not used for marketing, profiling, or tracking
  • Snippet content is never transmitted off-device by CodeShelf

You may delete your data at any time by:

  • Removing snippets within the app
  • Uninstalling CodeShelf from your device

All locally stored data is removed when the app is deleted.

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect app changes or legal requirements. Updates will be published alongside app updates.
